The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a service group where teens get to share their ideas, make their voices heard, and help shape Teen Services at the library. Led by teen librarian AnnaRae, TAB was formed in 2023 and lives by the motto: “Where creativity meets community.”

TAB members team up to plan library events, brainstorm teen room updates, co-host programs, and help make the library a better place for teens. Programs we work on include our annual Teen Lock-In, Halloween Party, and Summer Reading Program. Members also take turns creating a new book display each month in the teen collection.

TAB meets on the first Monday of each month in a meeting room on the lower level. If that Monday is a holiday, we’ll meet the next Monday instead. Meetings are from 7–8 PM, unless we post otherwise. We take a break in July and August for the summer.

Our goal is to make the library a welcoming space with fun, teen-approved programs and improvements you’ll actually enjoy. We work together to make a real impact on teens in our community.

It's a great way to get involved, grow your leadership and teamwork skills, and make friends. It especially looks good on job and college applications. Teen librarian AnnaRae is also happy to be a reference on applications for active members.

Joining is easy! Sign up for the next meeting on the library’s online calendar. Come, bring a friend, meet us, and see what the vibe is like. The sooner you join, the more it helps on your applications!

Students must be currently enrolled in grades 9-12. Consistent attendance at monthly meetings and active participation are required. Members must also follow the TAB Code of Conduct - check it out for all the details!

Community service hours are available to active TAB members only. Attendance and service hours are tracked by the teen librarian and can be provided upon request.
