Common Cents @ Your Library

Common Cents @ Your Library is a financial literacy and personal investment and information resources program provided by the Saratoga Springs Public Library.  The program is designed to provide reliable information on a range of personal finance and investment topics.  We hope you find this guide useful and find the tools and resources available at the Library useful for all your financial literacy needs.

This program is made possible by a grant from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's Investor Education Foundation through Smart Investing @ Your Library, a program of the American Library Association

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation provides underserved Americans with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary for financial success throughout life. The FINRA Foundation envisions a society characterized by universal financial literacy.

Established in 2003, the FINRA Foundation supports innovative research and educational projects aimed at segments of the investing public that could benefit from additional resources.

These resources come in various forms. FINRA grants allow researchers to explore investor behavior and develop practical ways to avoid costly mistakes and prepare for the future. Grant funding also helps nonprofit organizations ensure that reliable financial and investor education is available to all who need it, when they need it—at the workplace, online 24/7, or wherever it’s most effective.

FINRA is dedicated to investor protection and market integrity through effective and efficient regulation of the securities industry. Learn more more about FINRA.

Smart Investing @ Your Library

Smart investing @ your library is a grant-funded program developed collaboratively by the American Library Association and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. The program addresses the growing need for unbiased financial and investor education at the grassroots level.

Since its launch in 2007, participating libraries and their community partners have helped people nationwide find the information they need to improve their financial decisions.

The materials on this website grew out of those projects. Developed by innovative librarians during tough financial times, the tools here are patron-tested, practical and free. We hope the information helps you start a financial education program in your library soon.
