Crafts for Bibliophiles -- NEW! Project Added 11/24/25: More Ideas

A collection of directions/templates for making your own book-related crafts at home.

Have any old newspapers or magazines? Hundreds of text-heavy pages from recycle-ready books?
Use them as the craft paper for just about any paper project to achieve creative, reading-inspired art pieces!

Prepare your pages by cutting off rough edges with either a paper cutter; a T-square and craft knife; or a ruler, pencil, and scissors. Some projects may start with perfect squares of paper, while others will involve cutting shapes out of whatever you have to work with. Look in particular for text-heavy pages, those with fancy lettering, or interesting illustrations.
Try something and get creative! Check out the separate LibGuide Crafting at Home for ideas using additional material types.
